 When the devil speak through people you respect, shut him up and remind him that you are living a victorious and glorious life in Christ. Which he sadly lost the opportunity to do the same. A senior colleague told me i was wasting away because i choose to remain single and celibate, i shut him up by telling him atleast i don't have to worry about contacting STDsb HIV infection and losing the sweet communion i share with the Lord. Know where it's coming from and respond as such, not all advice and talks come from a good place. Some of this subtle suggestions are from the devil 😈, seeking to derail and mislead you.  When he can't find easy access to your life, he tries to break your resolve with unhealthy relationships, which is why he trys to make you feel like you are incomplete without a relationship.  Shut him up by telling him a man after God's own heart ❤, who God has prepared for you is just near by, you won't settle for anything less than God...

As the new year is just begins, A lot of us are either excited or afraid for the year.  If you are in the first group who are excited, you definitely are prepared and ready for 2023.  If you are in the second group, you certainly have a lot happening in your life, you don't know if it would get better or worst. Relax, never forget this truth, you don't have to carry the burden all by yourself in 2023. Enter a partnership with the holy spirit, let him lead you and help you.  It doesn't have to be difficult you know, all you need to do is let him help you.  A lot of us carry burdens we have no business carrying, while our helper stand helplessly watching us struggle because we have not learnt how to ask him for help.    Ask God to help you and guide you in this new year.  Don't walk alone walk with God.

What are usually the questions you ask someone you are interested in ?  Recently, I met this guy who ticked all of my boxes and even more, he has a good job. Got his acts together and has his goals set on track.  He has got the looks and of cause the right attitude, knows how to treat a lady right.  I liked him but I had to pause when that inner voice said 'ask him if he is married'.  Listen, when you walk with the holy spirit you would make less mistakes in your life. So, I asked the question as instructed by the spirit and this guy just wore a blank look that gave him away immediately. I just died inside because once again yet another time waster just showed up looking like the one but certainly not the one because God is not an author of confussion.  So, I soft pedalled and stayed on that question until I got my answers, he reluctantly owned up and buttered it up with so much love profession.  I just gave him a blank look and told him in as simply as pos...

You know a lot of times we sit and talk about how we hope the new year will be nice to us and all that.  The new year owes you no such thing but you owe the year so much, how you might ask ? Yes, you the year so much , because you have been given a blank sheet to work with, what becomes of it   is your doings and makings.  Except for when the circumstances are beyond your control.  What is it going to be in 2022 ?  Are you going to make delineate delibrate efforts to make it a successful year or are you going to sit and continue saying whatever will be will be ?  Am your partner in progress and am saying stand up and take decisive actions.  Welcome to 2022, a year with endless possibilities.  Jennifer Ebere Richards 12/01/2022

Recently, I found myself at a place I never thought I would ever be at again.  After my cafeteria was pulled down by the government, to make more room for road construction last year. I had planned my life properly and put everything in place for a smooth flow.  Only to wake up to one new government policy that made all my effort appear like building a sand castle on a sea shore.  At this point i felt like everything has ended, am tired of starting all over again but do i have a choice.  So here am i working for salary after years of been self employed, trying to start all over again from the scratch, even though it wasn't what i planned or envisaged.  I have another opportunity to plan and build something better, even though i have to go back to square one.  It can only get better and bigger.  #it's_not_over_until_it's_over #starting_all_over #new_beginnings

'The Father's Warm Embrace' Precisely 10yrs ago, i woke up one morning and discovered i was out of job, while i was still thinking of what to do with my life, things started getting really tough.  Four months down the line i got another job as a hair stylist, while i was celebrating that little success, the chrismas break came and i was given 2 days off duty for the new year. Only to recieve a letter from the office on the 1st of January, that my service's were no longer needed. I just couldn't understand what was happening,  i was mad and angry. I was asking question, haven't i been faithful ? Haven't i been serving ? Is this what i get after all my commitment and dedication to God's work ? To make matter's worst, my church was on my neck, sister Jennifer Richards you have not been paying your partnership. They never bothered to ask what has been happening to me, instead they only cared my contributions.  To be continued!

I don't know how long you have been told do not, don't, take it and turn it to a 🍩 donut.  You heard me turn it into a donut and enjoy every bit of it, yeah donuts are usually very yummy and delicious.   You can interpret the donuts are dough not which is do not make doughs or you can interpret it as do nuts which is making dough nuts.  It's all about your interpretation of what is said, for me I choose to interpret my circumstances and situations around me as donuts, I make what I can of it and enjoy every bit of it.  Don't let the people shouting do not and don't stop you in your pursuit of the life you want, you have the creative power to recreate your world.  So make donuts and enjoy every bit of it.  Jennifer Ebere Richards Creative writer and thinker.

Several years ago, i was in a church service and the preacher was preaching and he said ' everything you have been through, God has a purpose for it'. It sounded ridiculous to me, what exactly is the plan and purpose of God for letting me get abused, molested, raped, framed up and wrongly accused ? What exactly is that supposed to achieve ? He went ahead and quoted the scriptures from Romans 8:28 All things work together for good to them that love God and to them who are called according to his purpose. Recently, I have been asking a couple of questions and top most on the list of questions I need answers to is. Who exactly àm I ?  I would really love to know who I am, because most times I don't even recognise myself.  I look at myself and I see a stranger and the glimpse of a woman who is trying to find herself and express herself without the fear of being judged.  Not the stranger who I have become, whom sadly have become a people pleaser and is trying to conform to the dictates of society.  I see a woman who is so afraid of shining that my light is beginning to go dim for lack of use.  I see a woman who have let herself get muzzled by selfish ambitious folks who feel intimidated by her light and are bent to turn it off, so they can look good.  " can a back wheel suddenly drive a car, on a right track ? ”  ” If no, why are you trying to replace a front wheel with a back wheel ? ”   Am learning to live again and redi...

Some years ago I decided to follow a friend and her friends to the swimming pool  @ Asa Pyramid Hotels Kaduna. The weather was really hot, and been that I have never been into a swimming pool before. I stayed put at the shallow part of the pool, not only was I a first timer, I also had phobia for  water. While others  were enjoying the pool and having fun, I was pitched close to the steers so I can easily get out when I feel a need for it.  That was when I noticed a  couple of guys trying to lift a young lady to there shoulders and I noticed at this point that she had a pad on, meaning she was menstruating  and didn't bother about the health of other swimmers at the pool. As soon as I saw that I left the pool and never went back to a swimming pool ever again. If you look closely you would see me at the far left and our aunty that came to the pooling while on her flow is the one trying to climb unto the shoulders of her companion's. #swim...

It's no longer news that the world is going through a difficult time in its history with the corona virus pandemic.  It's not news that the world economy is experiencing a depression and a lot of nations are experiencing recession.  It's not news that a lot of lives has been lost, courtesy of the pandemic, we saw nations like America, U.K.African nations and all of Europe at the end of their wits and helpless.  Not knowing what to expect the next minute, but in all of this God still remained God.  Remember what God said in the scriptures ' that the heaven and earth will pass away but every word that he has spoken will not return to Him void without fulfilling that for which he spoke it '. In all of this all of this we saw God at work and how he came to the rescue of his children.  I don't know what pandemic you are experiencing, know that God is always working things out for your good.

At the beginning of the year. I made so many plans to improve on my blog content and post more. Turned out to be one of the most challenging year for me, i can say that this year has been filled with so much emotional and mental stress for me.                 Drapped Gracefully In recent times we have seen a huge increase in indecent dressing. We have seen both ladies and guys dress to church as though they are going to the club. Remember the saying that says 'dress the way you want to be addressed' ? It's not just a cliche, its a truth we need to tell ourselves and our children. There's a huge difference between wearing ripped jeans, cropped tops and an elegant dress with good pair of shoes. Listen, am not saying you can't wear a pair of jeans, no that's not what am saying. My point is to what function are you wearing it to ? What kind of jeans are you wearing ? Take a look at Prince Harry's wedding, did you see how the guests were dressed ? Even the guests who normally would wear skimpy clothes, dressed properly, that's just to attend a royal wedding. Why then should you appear before God dressed like a street hooker ? I have seen ushers, give ladies scarfs to cover ...

          Dealing with depression Depression is a deep emotional/mental state of helplessness and panic. That could either make you turn violent or withdrawn. We all go through periods of depression but what makes us different from one individual to another is how we handle it. I had to intentionally pay attention, so i can find out what triggers me and cut off the sources.         The first thing i discovered was that certain scenario and events, tends to trigger me off. Especially when i watch some movies, read certain stories and listen to certain people or see certain people been mistreated. I paid attention to the kind of movies i watch, stories i read and people i listened to. Movies portraying violence against women, children and vulnerable people was top on the list, same with the stories. Sunburn remedy. This sun isn't skin friendly at all. I kind of got exposed to too much sun today, I didn't wear sunscreen, now my  face feels like pepper spray was sprayed on it. So i just got myself some cucumber can't wait to see how it works it wonders and calm my burning skin. That's if i don't end up eating all of it, Then Shea butter to moisturize and heal the burn. Procedure: Wash the affected area with cold and and a mild soap. Pat dry, take a slice of cold cucumber and gently rob it over the area or blend the cucumber. Strain with a cheese cloth, deep a cotton ball into the juice and apply it on the affected area. Rinse it off after 15minutes and pat dry. Apply Shea butter on the affected area and let it sort the burns.
